» The Childhood & Start of a Successful Career
Britney Jean Spears was born on December 2, 1981, in the small town of Kentwood, LA. Britney Spears began performing as a singer and dancer at a young age, which included her to compete with others on Star Search for a dance and singing competition. Spears auditioned for the Mickey Mouse Club at age eight. As Spears auditioned, most of the producers turned her down, but one producer had sent her to New York City for an agent. Spears appeared in several commercials and off-Broadway plays. At age eleven, Britney auditioned again for the Mickey Mouse Club, where she finally made the cut. The show included other celebrities (Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez,Christina Aguilera and Keri Russell) that are well known today for their own work.

Later, the Mickey Mouse Club was canceled after two years that Spears was on the hit show. Spears went back to New York and got involved with auditions for the pop scene. Spears got herself a deal with Jive and recorded her first single “Baby One More Time”. The music video for “Baby One More Time” premiered that same year and the song was already at the top of the charts.

» The Success of “Baby One More Time”
Britney’s record was released in the year of 1999, which entered the charts at number one and stayed there for six consecutive weeks. As weeks went on Spears released other hit songs from the album titled as “Crazy”, “Sometimes”, and “From the Bottom of my Broken Heart”.
As her album was climbing the charts, Spears also made a cameo appearance in the comedy show “Sabrina the Teenager Witch”. Britney also did her first photoshoot with Rolling Stone, which appeared to be a prerogative cover in many eyes of the public. The cover from Rolling Stone was on sale and rumor had it that Spears may have received breast implants at age eighteen based on the prerogative phtoshoot. By the very end of 1999, Spears had sold ten million copies. Britney was already known for a huge super star.

The Start of the “Oops!…I Did It Again” Era
As her first album started to die down, Spears released her second album “Oops!…I Did It Again”, which was released spring of 2000. The title track was already a smash hit and raced to the top ten. The second album itself was already at number one for the chats with over a million records sold in the first week. Music videos and song singles that also entered the charts were “Lucky”, “Stronger”, and “Don’t Let me be the Last to Know”. The second album sold over nine million copies by the end of the year. Rumors had it that Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears were currently dating. This rumor was confirmed by the couple themselves.

» The Start of new projects
For the third album, Britney wanted to grow up and have an older audience. The title for her third album was titled her first name titled as her name “Britney”. In this album, Spears wanted to show herself as a mature woman. The album did well, but overall her other singles (“Slave 4 U” “Not a girl, Not yet a Woman” and “Overprotected”) off her third album wasn’t so hot for the third studio album.

In early 2002, Spears started recording for her first movie titled “Crossroads”. Crossroads didn’t do well due to commercial performance. Spears promoted a bit of the movie at Total Request Live, while co-hosting for the top ten music videos. Crossroads was released in theaters in February 2002 and was later available on DVD months later. Britney also released a book titled “Stages”, which included a DVD from behind the scenes of her Dream Within Dream Tour in Mexico. Spears was considered an icon for the work that she’s done. Pepsi Cooperation worked with Spears in making Pepsi commercials for a couple of years during her height of her career. During mid-2002, Justin and Britney’s relationship came to an end. A song (Cry Me A River) that Justin Timberlake released on his first solo album, features lyrics about their relationship and a blonde girl that appeared to look like Spears.

Britney made her second cameo appearance in the third Austin Powers installment titled as “Austin Power: Goldmember”, which also contributed a remix of her single “Boys” to the soundtrack and the opening number for the movie. Spears also toured for one of her biggest tour events known as “Dream within a Dream”. The tour kicked off in Las Vegas. Promotion for the tour featured Britney in a suit that matched Elvis from back in the day. The DVD for the tour was later released. In 2007, Britney shaved her head. There was no reason given, but she did seek for help in a treatment center located in California. After leaving the treatment center, Britney started to work on her next comeback album and performed a few small shows at the “House of Blues” locations during May. During mid 2007, Spears was still going through a lot of drama in her life. She wanted to promote her new song (Gimme More) at the MTV’s Video Music awards, but instead the performance was a disaster. A month later her album “Blackout” was released. The fifth album was one of her least charting albums. “Believe” was Britney’s fifth perfume fragrance that was released in mid 2007.
